Swiss double celebration, travelling to Wien, then to Prague for a little while. It’s been a couple of busy days for Marc Janko, however, he could finally pose with a kit of his new club.

International break is running and Marc had the chance to take advantage of a free day in team Austria schedule and head to Prague to sign a contract with Sparta.

“Exciting, but very nice times for me, I am happy to have signed with Sparta Prague. It’s a great club, it’s the biggest club in the Czech Republic, with high expectations and high ambitions. I’m really looking forward to finally meeting the guys and working on our first goal, which is bringing the championship back home,” said Janko after signing his contract at Letná.

My first goal was to find a club that’s ambitious to win titles. Sparta gave me the feeling straight away and put a lot of effort to sign me, so I already feel very welcome here and I’m looking forward,” Marc said.

Apart from his home country, Janko has experience from Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese, Australian and Swiss top division. Now he will try the Czech one, but he already know what to expect, thanks to his former teammate, Tomáš Vaclík.

“It’s a physically rough league, but I have no problems playing physically, I’m capable of working my way through the defence. I am prepared to play in this league. We have a new coach now, with a strong ambition to win the title and with a strong idea how he wants to play. I am very confident that we can accomplish our goals together,” Janko believes.

Marc will meet his new teammates in two weeks, when the pre-season training finally begins, and he cannot wait.

“I’m looking forward, no doubt about that. It is very important to find ourselves as a group, it’s very important to find a good team atmosphere and good team spirit. We have a plenty of time to develop that,” Janko added.
