The boys made it and earned some well-deserved points in the Europa League group stage, beating Internazionale 3-1, after a tremendous performance in the first half and two goals by Václav Kadlec.

Vácha, Zahustel, Šural and Costa were missing, and so the young guys got their chance. As well as in Southampton, Michal Sáček played from the first minute, as well as Holzer and Čermák. Václav Kadlec started as the lone striker and did extremely well.

After seven minutes of play, he was found by a nice through pass by Dočkal and opened the score, hitting the bottom corner.

Sparta were active, pressing hard, which caused Inter some serious trouble. Václav Kadlec doubled the lead, after Frýdek played a set piece quickly and Kadlec beat Handanović, face to face.

Sparta could add the third early in the second half. Karavaev missed the empty net after a clever cross by Holzer, Václav Kadlec then fired just over the bar after a nice lob by Michal Kadlec.

And so it was the opposition to strike. Palacio got denied by Koubek in his first chance, but he was more successful in the 71st minute and cut Sparta’s lead in half.

However, Inter’s plans did not last long. Ranocchia got sent-off, seeing his second yellow card. A free kick followed, Mazuch returned the ball back to the box and Mario Holek hit the empty net with a header.

There was too little time for Inter to answer, and when Eder missed the goal in Inter’s biggest chance shortly before the final whistle, Sparta could start celebration a nice win.
