The first team squad returned to Strahov dressing room right after arriving from Germany after yesterday’s clash in Essen. Ščasný’s squad played another match today vs. Trenčín – and lost again.

With a couple of changes in the line-up, Sparta started the match off well, with Juliš opening the score after only seven minutes of play.

The fatigue played its part, as Trenčín managed to get the lead. Rabiu levelled the score with a nice shot from a counter attack and Wesley gave the Slovak side the lead four minutes later.

Before the halftime whistle, Marek Štěch tackled Van Kessel down in the box and Koolwijk make no mistake from the spot.

The same played had another penalty chance right after the break after Mazuch’s foul, and was succesful again to give Trenčín a 4-1 lead.

Zdeněk Ščasný made a couple of changes in the line-up for the second half, sending out key players Dočkal and Lafata, and the captain did a tremendous job once again.

First he redirected a cross from the right to the net, then headed it Dočkal’s free kick to score his second goal of the match. However, Sparta players lacked energy to make one more push for the equaliser and lost to Trenčín 3-4.
