They made it! After a brilliant performance in the second half, Sparta defeated Krasnodar 3-0 on their home ground and advanced to the Europa League round of 16!

Missing Šural and Lafata, Zdeněk Ščasný decided to go back to the 3-5-2 formation, and could also use Martin Frýdek, who missed the first leg being suspended.

Krasnodar showed a much better performance than last week in Prague and put Sparta under a pressure right from the start. Ari missed the goal in the first chance of the match after rushing through Sparta’s defence. Mamaev missed again in another good scoring position, as well as Strandberg with his header after a corner kick.

Sparta got their chance shortly before the halftime, but Costa’s rebound went just over the bar.

However, second half was much more entertaining for Sparta fans. After six minutes of play, Zahustel got into the box, found Mareček in front unmarked and Sparta took the lead.

Six minutes later, Dočkal crossed the ball from the right and Martin Frýdek doubled the lead with a header.

The situation got even more complicated when Kabore got sent off after seeing his second yellow card, and Kehinde Fatai then sealed the win with a strike from a counter attack.

Sparta defeated Krasnodar 3-0, beat their opponent 4-0 on aggregate and advanced to the next round of the competition!
