Sparta were successful in their first match after the international break, defeating Vysočina Jihlava 3-0 at Letná. David Lafata was the man of the match, having scored two goals.

V. Kadlec, Karavaev, Dočkal, and Koubek, all international players, returned to back to the line-up, so the young players from the U19 team started only at the bench. Apart from that, nine regular first team players were out of play with injuries.

The match was as expected, the opposition were focusing mostly on the defence. David Lafata had Sparta’s first big chance, but his diving header went just wide.  On the other side, Tlustý failed to score in Jihlava’s biggest chance and only hit one of Sparta defenders in front of the net.

And so it were finally the home side to score. Lukáš Mareček crossed the ball, Lafata’s header hit one of Jihlava defender’s back and Lafata could only tip the ball in the net.

Václav Kadlec could then score another, but after a nice cross by Holzer, Kadlec missed the goal by inches.

Vyacheslav Karavaev doubled the lead with his first goal for Sparta, early in the second half, with an amazing long-range shot. Only four minutes later, Hanuš denied Václav Kadlec from a breakaway, and David Lafata had an easy task, scoring his second goal of the match.

After the third strike, Sparta were in a complete control of the match. Yougsters Václav Dudl and Filip Havelka made their league debuts, and saw their Sparta earn all the points for a comfortable 3-0 win.
