Sparta travel back home from Milan without adding one more win in the group stage. They were close to earning a point and even reached for a win, but Éder’s strike from the final moments of the match set the final score.

There was no need for the coaches to make any changes. Only Bořek Dočkal replaced Matěj Pulkrab up front besides David Lafata.

Éder was the man of the first half. He was not successful with his first two attempts, first firing just over the bar, then getting denied by Koubek. Sparta keeper made a save on another shot, but had no chance on Éder’s rebound and Inter took the lead.

Sparta responded quickly, as the cross from the right bounced off both Lafata and Ranocchia and wen just wide of the post.

The start of the second half was much better for Sparta, as Bořek Dočkal crossed the ball from the left and Lukáš Mareček levelled the score with a wonderful header.

Sparta could even get the lead shortly after, as David Lafata was tackled in the box and Sparta were awarded a penalty, but Carrizo denied Dočkal and kept the score intact.

It seemed the match would end with a draw, but it was Eder to turn around with the ball at the edge of the box and beat Koubek in the last minute of the match.

However, despite a 1-2 loss, Sparta advance from the group stage, finishing first in the table.
