The return of SYNOT liga after international break was unsuccessful for Sparta as we lost to Slovácko in Uherské Hradiště. Home side scored one goal in each half and they earned the first home victory over Sparta after more than ten years.

Sparta started the match without David Bičík who was not able to play due to illness. Head coach Zdeněk Ščasný could not use Vácha, Holek or Zahustel because of injury.

Sparta had first two chances but Lafata and Costa were not able to put a ball behind the last man. Slovácko defender cleared ball from goal-line in both chances.

Slovácko scored the first goal in 14th minute when Biolek passed the ball behind defense, Koné won the battle with Mazuch, rounded Miller and scored to the empty net – 1:0 for Slovácko.

The match was absolutely the same after the half-time. Sparta tried to create chances and had ball most of time but Slovácko defended greatly with consistent concentration. They waited for counter-attacks and it paid off. Civič collected ball in 58th minute at his own half, moved quickly across the field and scored the second with his left foot.

Sparta was unable to score in the rest of the match because of strong defense and many mistakes in final phase of attacks.

Slovácko won for the first time over Sparta after more than ten years at home, Sparta lost the first league game in this calendar year.
