Training camp in Austria ends with a 1-0 win over English 3rd division side Blackburn Rovers. Marc Janko secured the win with his first strike since joining Sparta, and Tomáš Rosický finally returned from an injury, playing the last 19 minutes.

Janko started in the starting line-up for the first time after coming on as a sub in the second half of the last friendly against Ingolstadt.

Sparta started the match off well and Blackburn keeper Raya had to make his first good save of the day on Šural’s powerful shot from an angle.

However, Blackburn have started to pick up the pace and were dominating in the first half. The opposition struggled with finishing their chances. Conway broke free down the left side five minutes ahead of the halftime whistle, crossed, but Vatajelu cleared the ball just before Nyambe could head it past Koubek.

Andrea Stramccioni made a couple of changes in the squad and tactics, and it all started to work in the second half. Sparta took over and chances started to come.

David Lafata only hit one of Blackburn defenders, but when Michal Kadlec crossed the ball from the left after fifty minutes of play, Marc Janko had an easy job of tipping the ball past Raya.

Lafata could double the lead only minutes after the opener, firing after a lovely feed by Janko, but Raya made a tremendous save.

Blackburn could level the score late in the match, when Matoušek lost the ball to Graham, who then failed to beat Koubek face to face.
