After a long negotiation, Jakub Brabec finally completed his transfer to Belgian side KRC Genk and signed a 3-year deal.

Brabec is a Sparta homegrown player, but he had to undergo a spell at Viktoria Žižkov and a loan at Zbrojovka Brno.

However, from the 2013-2014 season, he started to become one of the key parts of the first team – responsible in the back, dangerous in the attack, scoring some important goals. Last season, he scored against APOEL, Asteras or Villarreal. This year, he scored a late game-winner against SonderjyskE and saw his team advancing to the Europa League group stage thanks to the strike.

Jakub Brabec spent five season with Sparta, making 71 league appearances and scoring 6 league goals.

Brabec was also a regular youth team national player. He was a captain of the Czech U19 squad, winning silver medals on the European championship in 2011. Four years later, he was a member of the Czech U21, competing on the home U21 Euro. He made one appearance for the national A-team.
