Bosnian promising youth international player Zinedin Mustedanagić is back with the Sparta senior squad after he spent the last calendar year on-loan with Dukla Prague.

Same as last year he travelled with the squad for the training camp in Benahavis but last year he went to Dukla Prague after the training camp for the one-year loan spell. This time, he hopes he will earn his place in the squad and he will remain Sparta player.

“I’m very happy to be back in Sparta. It was nice to get some appearances in the top tier and I would like to thank Dukla for this opportunity but my current aim is to fight for the place in the Sparta squad.”

“My advantage is I know all the things right now and I’m not too shy as I was last year during my first spell with the first team squad before I went to Dukla. It was a great experience to play for Dukla in the top tier and I want to use it now to be able to play for Sparta.”

Zinedin is a member of the Bosnian Under 21 national squad same as Eldar Ćivić who is a captain of this team and it’s important for “Zizu” to have some compatriot in the squad.

“It’s for the first time during my time at Letná or Strahov and it’s great to have guys like Eldar or Srdjan Plavšić in the squad. We are together a lot and we also help each other with some stuff.”

Meanwhile, Srdjan and Eldar are like twins after their summer arrival to Letná and they share the same room during the training camp, Zinedin is a roommate with Václav Drchal. The promising 18 years old striker was promoted to the first team squad from U19s and he scored three goals in nine minutes against Táborsko in the earlier stage of the winter pre-season.

“It was not needed to give him some hints how he should behave in the first team squad. He is a very talented player and nice person and I think he is well accomplished in the first team already. He showed to all of us he is capable of big things in the match against Táborsko.”

“Zizu” played the second half against Táborsko in our 7-2 win against this side from the second tier. “I played in number 10 position for a while but Eldar Ćivić picked up the injury so I moved to the left wing role. I’ve never played in this role so I surprised myself I played well there.”

The main aim for upcoming weeks is very clear for Zinedin. “I try to give my maximum to every training session and I hope I will remain in the first team squad and I will play in Sparta jersey during spring part of the season.”
