What a battle! Jablonec’s penalty area was under siege for a long time, but it seemed that the opposition’s defence would hold. But Sparta finally managed to strike three times in the second half to earn a valuable 3-0 win.

Vyacheslav Karavaev started in his first match for Sparta, while Čermák, Lafata and Holek all returned to the starting line-up.

Both defences were on top in the first half. Holzer and Karavaev crossed the ball into the box many times, but couldn’t find their teammates in front of the goal. Lafata and Kadlec failed in their chances, both missing the target.

Josef Šural had the same success in the second half, sliding in front of the goal only to shoot the ball wide of the post. Lukáš Juliš, who came on the pitch later in the match, only hit a defender in another good chance.

Then, finally, David Lafata found Dočkal’s cross from a corner kick and the ball went in off the post.

Five minutes later, Karavaev crossed the ball from the right and Matěj Pulkrab headed it in, in his first league match for Sparta.

The captain David Lafata then set the final score with a lovely volley after another free kick.
