Only a couple of days after Europa League clash with Krasnodar, Sparta recorded another home win. This time they beat 2-0 Mladá Boleslav and scored both goals in the first half.

David Lafata still hasn’t recovered from an injury and was missing in the starting line-up, however, Šural and Frýdek were back and ready to play.

Sparta dominated in the first half, opening the score after nine minutes of play. Šeda saved Krejčí’s shot from a shap angle, but Josef Šural scored easily from a rebound. For the winter signing, it was a second goal in his second league match for Sparta.

Costa added Sparta’s second after a corner kick, hitting the ball with a volley. Despite a couple other chances, it was only a 2-0 lead for Sparta in the halftime.

Sparta could not keep the pace in the second half, which resulted in the first – and actually the last – chance for Mladá Boleslav. Přikryl, former Sparta player, chipped the ball over Bičík from a breakaway, but Costa managed to clear the ball from the goalline.

Mladá Boleslav’s plans to try and level the score were gone when former Czech international Milan Baroš got booked for the second time and was sent-off. From that moment, it was too tough for the visitors.
