Sparta lost 0-2 to Slavia in the Prague derby, as Milan Škoda and Josef Hušbauer scored the two game-deciding goals in the second half.

Andrea Stramaccioni was forced to replace sick Hovorka with Costa in the centre back, which made room for Michal Kadlec to return from injury. Václav Kadlec also started, replacing David Lafata up front.

Slavia were in control, Sparta was threatening from quick counter-attacks. Georges Mandjeck presented himself with a nice shot from outside of the box, but he missed the goal in Sparta’s biggest opportunity of the first half.

Martin Dúbravka had much more work to do, making a couple of good saves in the first half. He did a tremendous job blocking Rotan’s powerful shot and then denying Stoch’s rebound as well. Moments after, he was beaten by Škoda and Costa cleared the ball, it seemed already behind the goalline. The match officials have ruled the goal out.

Jonathan Biabiany’s redirected cross bounced really close to the goalline, but Rosický was too far to tip it in Sparta’s biggest chance of the second half.

Slavia then decided the match. Stoch crossed the ball from a free kick and Škoda opened the score with a header.

Stramaccioni then set all his forces out to attack, sending out both Šural and Lafata, but neither of them got the equaliser. Costa robbed the team of the final pressure with a red card, Josef Šural then set the final scoreline with a late strike just moments before the final whistle.
