Sparta lost 1-2 to Young Boys in their first friendly in Austria, even though they got the lead early in the match. The Swiss side won the match in the second half with two strikes.

Sparta started with a 3-5-2 formation, which included Michal Kadlec, who almost scored Sparta’s first in the match – however, Josef Šural cleverly redirected his shot and became the scorer himself.

Sparta were the better side in the second half, however, didn’t convert their chances. Patrik Schick missed twice from a couple of good position, and another free kick by Kadlec went just over the bar.

Sparta made a couple of changes in the line-up for the second half, and their game started to lack pace. On the other side, the Swiss became more and more active and scored the equalizer soon, thanks to Thorsten Schick.

Finally, a couple of minutes after that, Gerndt scored the game-winner for Young Boys.
