The league returns with the fifth round this weekend and Sparta face Zbrojovka Brno, who have sacked manager Svatopluk Habanec earlier this week.

That brings some uncertainty in the team’s preparations for Saturday’s clash in Brno.

“Anything can happen, they can send out a completely different line-up. They will have their play based on aggressiveness, they will be motivated, because they host Sparta, especially when we had so much trouble winning away from home last season. Also our results in Brno have not been that good recently,” said Josef Šural ahead of the match.

“It’s not really a comfortable situation for us,” assistant coach Radoslav Kováč agrees, pointing out Habanec’s assistants Dostálek and Přerost will probably take over for the Saturady’s match.

Zbrojovka have been struggling this season, they are currently last in the league table with only a single point for a goalless draw with Bohemians. They have also been eliminated from the cup competition after a defeat by HFK Olomouc.

One of the main reasons are departures of their two top players in the last season. Zavadil left to Opava, Řezníček to Plzeň.

“They were the two key factors. Zavadil has been missing terribly, as well as Řezníček’s goals,” Kováč says.

“To be honest, I expected them to get into trouble, but not this early, though. Their schedule has not been that hard so far, the tough matches are still yet to come. Now they’re at the bottom of the league table with one point and things are getting really complicated for them,” Šural says.

Zbrojovka Brno host Sparta on Saturday with a kick-off at 5pm CET. The match will be broadcasted live on O2 Sport.
