Sparta started their spring league campaign with a win, beating Bohemians 1-0. Aleš Čermák secured the three points with an amazing long-range shot in the first half.

The coaching staff decided to make three changes and played Holek instead of Mazuch, Čermák instead of Vácha and Lafata instead of Juliš.

Néstor and Michal Kadlec were close to opening the score, but the Spanish striker was a step short of finishing his chance, and Kadlec headed the ball right to Berkovec’s gloves from a corner right after that.

Berkovec made his first big save of the night on Dočkal’s shot – the midfielder got a clever back pass by Costa in the box and fired just to hit the keeper.

Aleš Čermák then scored the game-winner in the 36th minute, when his long-range effort bounced off the crossbar and went into the net.

Markovič could level the score early in the second half after a clever pass by Mašek, but Tomáš Koubek did a great job cutting the angle and kicking the ball away.

Lukáš Juliš, who came on the pitch in the second half, could double the lead ten minutes before the final whistle, making his way from the left to the centre of the pitch, but his shot was redirected just wide of the post. Čermák’s amazing shot from the first half ended up to be the only one at the end.
