Sparta Prague academy graduate David Hovorka signed contract until 2020 with Sparta after he completed his move back to Letná after an one and half year with Slovan Liberec.

„I talked to Tomáš Požár and he presented me a vision what he has. I like it and convinced me to go back to Sparta. I played for youth teams of Sparta so I have some personal history in Sparta and I think it’s step forward for me to go to Sparta,“ said David Hovorka.

Twenty-three years old central defender or defensive midfielder went through the Sparta youth teams during his career and he was a member of our first team squad back in 2012/2013 winter pre-season.

„David is a warrior and he hates when his team loses. He is able to do everything for their teammates on the pitch. I really like this type of players,“ said head coach Tomáš Požár.

He played for FC Hradec Králové and FK Viktoria Žižkov during his loan spells in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons and he played 36 matches in the Czech second tier.

David moved to FC Slovan Liberec in the summer 2015 and during the next one and half year he played 36 league matches for Slovan. He also played 16 matches in Europa League during his time with Liberec.

This season ended for David just at the start of November when he had to go to surgery with his knee and he now works on his way back to the pitch.

David will celebrate his 24th birthday in August this year.
