David Bičík stays at Letná! Experienced keeper has extended his contract with Sparta and will stay with the team at least for one more season.

Bičík had already signed a one-year extension one year ago, now the history repeats itself and he will remain a Sparta keeper for one more season.

In the 2016-2017 season he made significantly less appearances, though. He played in the first league round against Slovácko and both Champions League 3rd round qualifiers against Steaua, but then was replaced by Tomáš Koubek.

He returned back to the goal in April 2017 after Koubek’s injury in Jihlava and has not left since then.

“I’m excited. Me and Tomáš Požár were talking since winter about how the contract should look like. I had some offers on table, but I did not want to think about that when I was still here. I was raised here, then came back again and now I will keep doing my best in order to help the team achieve better results than this year,” the keeper said.

Next season will be Bičík’s eleventh in the Czech top division. So far he made 135 appearances in his career, keeping the clean sheet in 49 matches.
